After decades of making winning running shoes, adidas tried to redefine speed through innovation, and did it successfully. The well-known Japanese craftsman Toshiaki Omori, who was the man behind the brand’s foot-centric approach to design since 1999, was the hero behind the birth of the Adizero franchise. He prioritised foot anatomy and used real foot moulds to create a perfect fit, or the so-called microfit. Foot-shoe harmony was achieved through simplicity, using meticulously selected materials, weight and cushioning to ensure an elegant and fast feel without compromising on comfort.

The adidas Boston line was first introduced as a lightweight, long-distance runner specifically crafted to tackle marathons, and it became one of the most popular options from the Adizero line. The shoe features a lightweight design with Adizero technology. It provides excellent energy return and responsiveness.

The Adizero Boston’s midsole is enriched with adidas’ advanced foam, Lightstrike and Lightstrike Pro, and the outsole has Continental rubber grip, which offers excellent grip on both wet and dry surfaces. The shoe boasts impressive durability and performance and is suitable for all types of training. The breathable mesh upper ensures good ventilation in any weather.

Compared to other adidas running shoes, the Adizero Boston stands out as the most versatile solution for daily training and racing. The first designs of the shoe were minimalistic with a low stack height, focusing on responsiveness and ground feel. As running technology evolved, the brand incorporated Lightstrike Pro cushioning into the line, providing runners with enhanced energy.
