Finding the Perfect Gift: Forget Tit-For-Tat Strategy

They say that “presents were invented for the pleasure of the one who gives them, and not for the merits of the one who receives them”. And indeed, nothing compares to the feeling of giving someone a present you know they love. Ah, the pure joys of seeing a sparkle in someone’s eyes because of you! But then again, the real essence of a gift is not how expensive it is, but rather with how much care and love it has been chosen and given. And since it is always the right time to make someone happy, why wait for Christmas, New Year’s Eve, a birthday or some other occasion, when you can sprinkle a bit of happiness on someone’s day on an ordinary day as well?

But how do you choose the right gift for a person?

Since everyone has different tastes and enjoys different things, consider what your recipient takes delight in? If it’s a friend you’re considering this gift for, avoid the cliche of sending flowers. Instead, keep the general idea but go beyond the expected. How about pots for plants? It is a unique idea as this way you’ll give your friend a beautiful decoration that she’ll have for a longer time than she’d have a bouquet of flowers (they will eventually die), while at the same time you’ll give her a chance to plant her favourite plants in it. The perfect win-win combination.

Consider the fact whether she enjoys more the traditional or contemporary style? How much space does she have in her home – whether there would be enough for the bigger pot varieties, or should you go with the smaller ones? Also, what is the dominant colour in her home? Is it all neutrals? If yes, give yourself the right to get her pots for plants in bold shades that will not disturb the interior design but will rather add just a dose of colour and make it more vivid. If, on the other hand, she doesn’t have a specified interior design scheme, go for pots for plants in neutral colours to tone down the ambiance.

And don’t forget about the materials. Plastic pots are the less expensive option to go with, however, they also imply a cheaper look, so you might want to think twice when it comes to gifts. Choose a pot that is not too pricey nor too cheap – you do want to leave a good impression, right? Pots made from fiberglass are another popular option as they’re pretty lightweight and have a very polished and stylish look. These are the right choice to give a space a more contemporary vibe. Clay pots fit best in a more traditionally-oriented design scheme, so make sure to pay attention to these details to create the perfect harmony.
